About Kimotay.com

selfportraitgreensm.jpgKimotay.com is the personal site for Kimberly Lightholder

Lightholder? Really? Yes, really. I get asked this quite a bit, Lightholder is indeed my real name, and yes, I am Native-American Indian (Modoc). However, Lightholder is not an indian name… it’s Irish, and it’s my husbands.

In short, I’m a dual-citizen Irish-American, born in San Francisco and now living in the midlands of Ireland on the River Shannon with my wonderful family.

During the Day…

I’m a programmer for Alienware, in Athlone, the midlands of the Republic of Ireland, specialising in objects to support regionalisation of multiple languages as well as U.I. development. Note my now instinctual use of Queen’s English.

By Night…

I work as a free-lance photographer, my main focus being live music photography. To that end, I also serve as photography and P.R. specialist for the Athlone Music Collective, a counsel created out of the Athlone School of Music to support music development in the midlands of Ireland. Many years ago, my husband and I also started the Irish Songwriting Co-opertaive, which supports the development of original music by offering resources and hosting a songwriting showcase once a year to be recorded and distributed in music stores around the country.

Other things that keep me busy include being in a band, (bass and vocals), costuming for historical re-enactment, as well as being mother to a lovely 2 year old little girl, born in Co. Galway, so she’s truly a ‘Galway Girl’.

In addition, I’m lucky enough to be wife to the love of my life who not only introduced me to an entire new world of creativity and inspiration, but fulfilled my childhood dream and brought me to Ireland. Life could not get any better.

Elsewhere…

As I am a computer developer, having been on the web since 1994, I do have a few other endeavors hiding here and there:

Kimotay.com…

This site is designed entirely by yours-truly, with a WordPress engine so highly hacked, I probably shouldn’t call it WordPress anymore. If you have any other questions, I’m always willing. Just comment me at anytime.

Goodbye…

See you later!
