The people whose gigs I shoot never fully appreciate the fact that sometimes, shooting musicians can get a little boring. So when I need a bit or a photography reboot during a session, I start photographing still-lifes.
They usually breeze past them looking for the next photo of their guitar-ripping solo, but these are mostly for me.

If shooting musicians gets boring, trade your camera for a tazer, a BB gun, or an assault rifle. With the right mix of ordnance, it quickly gets hilarious. ^_^
Or you can keep shooting your great pictures, of course, that's cool too! - Kimotay ~ 21 February 2008
You must be my biggest fan. :) - Grumpy Frenchman ~ 21 February 2008
Well, if I am, it's both a pleasure and an honor, m'Lady. - Frank van Hienen ~ 21 February 2008
A gig is much, much more than gitar-ripping solo's. It's the public, the band, the crew, the equipment that is used, the atmosphere of the live act ... and sometimes (not very often) a gitar solo.
Please keep shooting pictures like this.
Did you hear about the eternal vacancy ?? A solo gitarist with a small ego.

I love this. Granted getting that key shot of the energy in the show is great but when you stop and look around at these still life pictures I think they say just as much. - Philip ~ 28 February 2008
The guitar amp never looked so interesting. - Philip ~ 28 February 2008
And if it's not a guitar amp, I just really embarrassed myself.
